Dealing with Agile methodology

Dealing with stories in sprints

  1. If you get a story assigned to you, your job is to do the basic minimum to get the story across the finish line and close it.
  2. Don’t worry about things that are not directly related to your responsibility related to the story. These include things like:
    1. How are the testers going to test it using UI? It is not your job to worry about it. This should not stand in the way of closing the story.
    2. How is the change going to go through the release process and get deployed in Production. Ideally, stories should only be closed after the code is pushed to Production. But that doesn’t always happen. In most companies, the processes are entirely different.

Jira status should be up-to-date and correct

  1. I should mark the appropriate status in Jira. If I finish the story but if people cannot tell that I finished the story, it is not good.
