Things to look for in a client

  1. Team structure - all Indians or other people?
    1. Stay away from these clients: Walmart, Capital One, etc.
    2. Federal projects can be a nuisance -
      1. Cons
        1. lots of bureaucracy
        2. lots of unnecessary processes
        3. too much importance to non-sense processes
      2. Pros
        1. The tech stack is not as bad as one would think.
        2. They are using all the latest tools, architecture patterns, cloud providers, etc.
  2. Timezone
  3. Brand new team or existing team?
  4. Green field development or maintenance projects
