Difference between interviewing for fulltime jobs vs contracting jobs

Difference between interviewing for fulltime jobs vs contracting jobs

For contracting jobs, if you clear the technical interview, you can be 99% certain that you got the job. There will rarely be manager interviews. Even in those interviews, they usually keep things very high level.

With full-time jobs, technical interview is just one step along the way. Sometimes, they skip it altogether. They are all about what you can do other than coding. leading, dealing with difficult team members, how you will contribute towards the performance of your teammates, etc. See Manager interview questions

One of the things that interviewing for full-time jobs will teach you - if you don’t have them, the interviewing process will expose your lack of soft skills, interpersonal skills when it comes to dealing with teams, management, etc.

Unless you can bridge the gaps in those areas, the chances of clearing all the rounds of interviews for a full-time position will not be possible.
